Turmeric & Yogurt Facial Mask For Dark Spot Treatment

Turmeric and yogurt are known to be edible and our stomach can benefit a lot from them, but did you know that they are also helpful in making your skin brighter? In this article you will learn how to create a very simple mask using these two as the main ingredient. Are you ready?

To start with the process, you will need to prepare the following ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp fresh yogurt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tbsp ground oatmeal

Before we go through the process of creating the mask, let us first look at the details on each ingredients why they are effective in eliminating dark spots in your face while keeping it moisturized.

Turmeric – this contains a compound known as curcumin. This is helpful in treating skin depigmentation by gently eliminating the dark spots and lightens your skin over time. Curcumin also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidants which reduces the excess production of melanin making your skin tone lighter.

Yogurt – this contains active enzymes that are effective in removing dark spots. It also contains zinc, which is helpful in reducing the swelling and redness caused by acne or other skin problems like rashes.

Oatmeal – this will work as natural scrubbing agent which gently exfoliates your skin making it brighter and clearer.


1. Gather all the ingredients in a clean bowl.
2. Mix all the ingredients properly until it becomes a creamy paste.
3. Apply the paste on a cleansed face and neck or on the affected area only. Allow it to dry.
4. Gently massage in circular motion for 5 minutes.
5. Wipe off the mask with clean damp cloth.

Note: You can perform this step two to three times a week to get rid of dark spots.
